NEIL TILLOTSON (BORN ON DEC-16-1898)  WAS A CHEMICAL ENGINEER, INVENTED MODERN LATEX BALLOONS, LATEX GLOVES AND FOUNDER OF TILLOTSON RUBBER COMPANY.ONCE HE WAS TRYING TO FASHION SOME KIND OF TUBES OUT OF RAW LATEX(SAP OR JUICE OF RUBBER TREES).AS HE FAILED TO DO THAT, IN FRUSTRATION HE DREW A CAT'S FACE ON A CARDBOARD AND DIPPED IT IN LATEX. AFTER DRYING IT HE INFLATED IT, SURPRISINGLY HE GOT A CAT FACED BALLOON LIKE THING. AFTER THAT EVENT HE STARTED TO MAKE MANY BALLOONS LIKE THAT WHICH WERE IN GREAT DEMAND.THEN HE FOUND A RUBBER COMPANY TO MANUFACTURE SO MANY BALLOONS.

astronauts become 1-2 inches ( 2.5-5 cm ) taller when they are in SPACE.in SPACE without EARTH'S gravity, the vertebrae in their spines stretchout. this height is temporary , because they shrink back to their normal size when they return to EARTH.

    ANS: ACTUALLY IT CAN BE SO,THAT  MOON AT THE BEGINNING STAGE OF FORMATION, IS LOOSELY PACKED. (i.e., WE CAN SAY THAT INITIALLY THE MOON'S DENSITY WOULD HAVE BEEN LESSER) .WHEN DENSITY OF ANY OBJECT IS INCREASED, CERTAINLY ITS SIZE (i.e.,VOLUME) WOULD  BE GREATLY REDUCED.HOW CAN THE DENSITY BE REDUCED?     DUE TO ROTATION, REVOLUTION OF THE MOON AROUND THE EARTH FOR SO MANY YEARS AND SETTLING OF DUST,GASEOUS PARTICLES ON IT DURING THESE YEARS WOULD HAVE MADE IT HEAVIER AND SO SIZE WOULD HAVE GOT REDUCED. IF THIS IS TRUE, THEN SURELY SCIENTISTS WOULD SOON FIND A CHANGE OR A SLIGHT INCREASE IN MOON'S GRAVITY SOON.(BECAUSE ONLY IF THE SIZE IS REDUCED IT MEANS THAT GRAVITY HAS INCREASED).

why rainbow halo around the sun (in chennai,TN,INDIA ON JULY 11th,2010)?

ANS:on july 11th,around the sun , a halo(circle) with rainbow formed.inside that halo it was dark.actually due to humidity present in the clouds at the edge of halo, each droplet in the clouds ,act as a prism and dispersion occurs.[DISPERSION means splitting up of seven colours (VIBGYOR) when white light(i.e.light from sun,mercury vapour lamp etc.,)falls on prism or any glass materials]so we can able to see rainbow around the halo.dark portion at the center is due to  wherever in the space when these seven colours are mixed in unequal proportions it becomes dark or ash in colour.due to radiation pressure(force of sun's hot radiation,which we can feel when you ride a bike in hot sun,you can experience hot air forcibly acting on your face etc., )the clouds are moved to a maximum distance on all sides equally and forms a circle or halo like.this halo is formed in space between earth and sun i.e.,far away from the sun.

what is DIFFRACTION?
ANS: when we place any obstacle (any object) in the path of light,  the light rays bend around the edges of that obstacle.when we look at the image of that particular object  on the wall, the cenral portion of the image is darker than at  the edges of the image.this effect is due to a phenomenon called DIFFRACTION.

examples:   ^sunlight rays around the edges of clouds or mountains will  glow attractively.

                    ^ during solar eclipse it was adviced not to see sun rays directly.actually during solar eclipse the moon, which is in between sun and earth, crosses the sun obstruct the light rays . now the rays bend around the edges of the moon. this diffracting effect cause the intensity of light to be  more due to which light rays heap up at the moon's edges. the light rays, from the moon  during eclipse, are closer to earth when compared to those from sun.if anyone looked at this light, it will damage the eyes of humans.
