why rainbow halo around the sun (in chennai,TN,INDIA ON JULY 11th,2010)?
ANS:on july 11th,around the sun , a halo(circle) with rainbow formed.inside that halo it was dark.actually due to humidity present in the clouds at the edge of halo, each droplet in the clouds ,act as a prism and dispersion occurs.[DISPERSION means splitting up of seven colours (VIBGYOR) when white light(i.e.light from sun,mercury vapour lamp etc.,)falls on prism or any glass materials]so we can able to see rainbow around the halo.dark portion at the center is due to wherever in the space when these seven colours are mixed in unequal proportions it becomes dark or ash in colour.due to radiation pressure(force of sun's hot radiation,which we can feel when you ride a bike in hot sun,you can experience hot air forcibly acting on your face etc., )the clouds are moved to a maximum distance on all sides equally and forms a circle or halo like.this halo is formed in space between earth and sun i.e.,far away from the sun.

HE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST INDIAN SCIENTISTS.HE DISCOVERED LIFE IN PLANTS.HE DISCOVERED THAT PLANTS ARE ALSO HURT AND SHOCKED BY OTHER LIVING BEINGS.ALSO PLANTS COULD BE MADE UNCONSCIOUS BY SOME STRONG INTOXICANTS.HIS OTHER DISCOVERIES ARE: PLANTS BREATHE WITHOUT LUNGS, THEY DIGEST FOOD WITHOUT STOMACH,THEY REMAIN BUSY IN OTHER ACTIVITIES WITHOUT MUSCLES,THEY FEEL STIMULATED WITHOUT COMPLICATED NERVOUS SYSTEMS,THEY GENERATE ELECTRIC WAVES,THEY FEEL TIRED LIKE US,WHEN THEY DIE THEY RELEASE A STRONG ELECTRIC CURRENT,IF A PLANT INTAKE EXCESS OF CARBON DIOXIDE IT WILL DIE.
HE INVENTED 'CRESCOGRAPH' A DEVICE TO SHOW THE MOVEMENTS OF A PLANT THOUSAND TIMES ENLARGED .HE ALSO DISCOVERED THAT GROWTH OF PLANTS CAN BE HINDERED BY TOUCHING THEM.ALSO DISCOVERED 'OPTICAL PULSE RECORDER'TO RECORD CONTRACTION AND INTERNAL ACTIVITIES OF PLANTS. HOW GREAT HE IS, IS NOT IT? PROUD TO BE INDIAN!

what is DIFFRACTION?
ANS: when we place any obstacle (any object) in the path of light, the light rays bend around the edges of that obstacle.when we look at the image of that particular object on the wall, the cenral portion of the image is darker than at the edges of the image.this effect is due to a phenomenon called DIFFRACTION.
examples: ^sunlight rays around the edges of clouds or mountains will glow attractively.
^ during solar eclipse it was adviced not to see sun rays directly.actually during solar eclipse the moon, which is in between sun and earth, crosses the sun obstruct the light rays . now the rays bend around the edges of the moon. this diffracting effect cause the intensity of light to be more due to which light rays heap up at the moon's edges. the light rays, from the moon during eclipse, are closer to earth when compared to those from sun.if anyone looked at this light, it will damage the eyes of humans.
